Joseph J. Ochotny

JOSEPH OCHOTNY Joseph J. Ochotny, 83, a 63-year 
resident of Three Tuns (now part of Maple Glen) died Wednesday, October 31, 2012 
after a brief illness.
He was the husband of the late Rose Pugliese Ochotny. Joe was born April 8, 1929 
in Lower Salford Township on the family dairy farm, the son of the late Joseph 
and Helen Ochotny. 
Joe served as a police sergeant in the Upper Dublin Police Department for 26 
years and, after his retirement, was a school bus driver for Upper Dublin School 
District for 16 years. He was an avid gardener who enjoyed his vegetable garden. 
He also was an outdoorsman who spent many happy hours hunting and fishing with 
his sons and friends. He enjoyed his beloved vacation home in Forked River, NJ 
for more than 49 years. An animal lover, he raised English Setter dogs for many 
years. He enjoyed traveling and spent many winters in his condo in Palm Beach, 
FL after his retirement. Joe was active in church and community affairs. He was 
a member of Supplee Memorial Presbyterian Church, the Montgomery County 
Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 14, the Fort Washington Fire Co., Montgomery 
County Public Works Assoc., and Lacey Elks, Forked River,NJ. As a Mason, he was 
a member of Fritz Lodge No. 308, a 32 member of the AASR Valley of Allentown, 
and the LuLu Shrine of Plymouth Meeting. 
Joe was blessed with a loving family; he is survived by his sons, Joseph J. 
Ochotny, Jr. and his wife, Eleanor, of Mongomeryville and Robert L. Ochotny and 
his wife, Tricia Cressman, of Gwynedd Valley. He is also survived by four 
grandchildren, Dorothy, Carolyn, Joseph D, and Rachel Ochotny and a 
great-granddaughter, Jocelyn. Also surviving are one sister, Anna Howe, and his 
brother-in-law, William Pugliese . He was predeceased by two sisters, Helen 
Gebert and Martha Brandis. 
A Memorial Service will be held at Supplee Memorial Presbyterian Church, 855 E 
Welsh Road, Maple Glen, at 2PM November 18, where family and friends may call 
from 1PM until service time. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to 
Supplee Memorial Presbyterian Church or The Fort Washington Fire Company 
Memorial Fund. Arrangements are entrusted to Shaeff-Myers Funeral Home.
