William "Bob" Householder


THE HONORABLE WILLIAM "BOB" R. HOUSEHOLDER, JR., of Oreland, born on Feb. 29, 1941 and died on Jan.31, 2012.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Ann (nee Hamilton), 2 sons, Eric (Dawn) and Keith (Anita); and his 6 grand-children; as well as his brother, Richard and sister, Helene.

After his honorable discharge from the United States Marine Corps, Bob dedicated his life to his family and his community. He served as a Springfield Township Police Officer for 33 years. From Patrolman, to Juvenile Officer, Police Sergeant, Detective Sergeant and finally Lieutenant, Bob positively touched many lives in the community. He went on to serve as District Justice in his hometown for thirteen years, from 1999 to his retire-ment in August 2011.

In addition to his professional career, Bob was incredibly involved in the lives of his boys Eric and Keith, through Boy Scouts, CYO and Bishop McDevitt Football. Additionally, Bob was active in the local VFW. Bob loved woodworking, enjoying a beer, grilling, his mountain weekends, hunting, his dogs, being a police officer, a judge, a husband and a friend.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing tonight (Feb. 2nd), 6 to 8 P.M., at Holy Martyrs Church, Allison Rd. and Ulmer Ave., Oreland, and Friday, Feb. 3rd, from 10 to 11 A.M., followed by his Funeral Mass, 11 A.M., at Holy Martyrs Church. Int. Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
