Edward B. Williamson Williamson, Edward B., of West Conshohocken, died Wednesday, December 2, 2009, at his home after a lengthy illness. Mr. Williamson was born in Norristown on October 23, 1946, a son of Sara V. (Vining) Williamson of W. Conshohocken and the late St. Clair B. Williamson. He was 63. Mr. Williamson graduated from the former Conshohocken High School in 1965. He served in the US Navy during the Viet Nam War and was a member of Fighter Squadron 84 aboard the carrier USS Independence as a Yeoman 3rd Class. H worked as a pump assembler at Hale Pump in Conshohocken and as a part-time police officer in West Conshohocken. He later joined the Conshohocken Police Department, serving in various capacities. He was a detective, a juvenile officer, undercover narcotics agent with the Montgomery County N.E.T. (Narcotics Enforcement Team) and patrol sergeant before retiring in 2002. He attended many law enforcement seminars and courses and was a longtime volunteer for the George Clay Fire Company. Mr. Williamson was a member of Montgomery County Lodge #14 of the FOP, the Montgomery County Juvenile Advisory Assoc., and the National Juvenile Officers Association. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, traveling, dirt track racing, and especially, spending time with his family who he enjoyed talking about, especially his grandchildren. He was a kind and gentle man who took delight in serving the public and helping people with their problems. In addition to his mother, Mr. Williamson is survived by his wife of 25 years, Elaine (Balkiewicz) Williamson; by his children, Walter (Diana) of E. Norriton, Nicole (Matthew W.) of Conshohocken, Edward, Lisa, and Tracy. Also surviving are 2 grandchildren; Liam Greene and James Palac. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service, Monday, December 7, 2009, 10:30 AM, at the Moore & Snear Funeral Home, 300 Fayette St., Conshohocken, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, Dec. 6, from 7 to 9 PM. Interment will be in the George Washington Memorial Park, Plymouth Meeting.
