George A. Billger Sr.

George A. Billger Sr., 85, of North Wales, and formerly of Huntingdon Valley, died Aug. 1, 2009, at Manor Care Nursing Home, in Lansdale. He was the beloved husband of S. Philomena Taddei Billger.

Born in Huntingdon Valley, he was the son of the late John and Elsie Weiss Billger.

He was the devoted father of Linda M. Andrews, and her husband Arthur III, of Spring Hill FL, and George A. Jr., and his wife Mary, of Phila.; grandfather of Dawn, Diana and Artie IV, John and Paul; great-grandfather of Felicia, Brittany, Kelly, and Artie V.

He was a member of the Montgomery County FOP Lodge 14 for 61 years. He retired as a Sergeant from the Lower Moreland Police Department after 35 years of dedicated service. He was also a veteran in the US Army serving during World War II. He was also a longtime member of the American Legion Post No. 800 and of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge in Willow Grove.

Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing Wednesday from 7 to 9pm at the Joseph J. McGoldrick Funeral Home, 507 West Ave., Jenkintown and on Thursday from 9 to 9:45am at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Church. The funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday August 6 at 10am at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Church, 1325 Upper State Rd., North Wales, PA 19454. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park. In Mr. Billger’s memory, donations may be made to the above named church.
