Kenneth William Longacre Sr.

Longacre, Kenneth William, Sr., passed away on March 7, 2009 at the age of 83. Born April 6, 1925 in Conshohocken, PA, the son of Percy T. and Jessie (Buler) Longacre. Attended school in Conshohocken and Lansdale, PA. Member of the Lutheran Church. Ken served in the U.S. Navy during WW II and the Korean War; he was stationed on the SS Orville Harden, SS Gulf Point & USS Macomb DMF-23. He received the following military ribbons: European Theater, Pacific Theater, Good Conduct, American Theater, Victory Metal, Philippine Liberation & Germany Occupation Ribbon.

Ken was a proud member of Lansdale Police Force and the Upper Gwynedd Police Force and a former Detective with Montgomery County in Norristown,PA. He was an active member of The Fraternal Order of Police, Veterans of Foreign Wars & The American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers John Leroy & Donald Longacre. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Barbara Longacre; devoted children Kenneth William Longacre, Jr., FL, Florence Donnelly, NJ, Kent Longacre, NY, Desire Bleam, PA, Kelly Longacre Goldstein, FL, Richard Hari, PA, David Hari, PA, Debbie Wise, TX, Michael Hari, MD and adopted son Paul Muttillo, NJ; 18+ grandchildren and 3+ great-grandchildren. He is also survived by four sisters Dori Rumley, Hereford, PA, Phyllis Yeagle, Brentwood, H, Elizabeth (Carroll Maryott), Stroudsburg, PA, Norma L. (Titus Kratz, Jr.); three brothers Charles P. (Kathy) Longacre, Limerick, PA, Robert A. (Charlene) Longacre, East Greenville, PA, and James T. Longacre, Bradenton, FL. The family's favorite charities include Hospice of Palm Beach County, www.hpbcf.org and the American Lung Association, www.lungusa.org. A service with Military Funeral Honors will begin promptly at 11:30am on Friday, March 13, 2009 at South Florida VA National Cemetery, 6501 S. State Rd. 7, Lake Worth, FL.
