Allan R. Ewing, 52, husband of Mary
L. (Miller) Ewing, to whom he was
married for 34 years, of Frederica,
Del., formerly of Barto, passed away
suddenly on Sunday at Bay Health
Center/ Kent General Hospital in
Dover, Del.
Born in Phoenixville, he was the son
of Janet M. (Slaughter) Ewing and
the late Irvin H. "Rocky" Ewing.
Allan was a 1973 graduate of
Spring-Ford High School. He went on
to receive an associate's degree
from Penn State University.
He served on the Pottstown Police
force for 28 years. Prior to that,
he served on Schuylkill Township,
Spring City and East Pikeland police
forces.
While in Delaware, he worked as a
judicial assistant at Family Court
in Dover.
Allan was an avid hunter and
fisherman. He was a life member of
the Liberty Fire Company in Spring
City and was a rescue diver with the
Spring Ford Rescue Squad.
Surviving with his wife and mother
are son, Matthew A. Ewing of
Frederica, Del., and brother, David
Scott Ewing of Spring City.
A funeral service will be held on
Friday at 1 p.m. at Catagnus Funeral
Home & Cremation Center, Ltd., 329
N. Lewis Road, Royersford with
Pastor Kenneth F. Miller
officiating. Burial will follow in
Limerick Garden of Memories,
Limerick. Friends may call on Friday
from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the
funeral home.
